Former “Charlie’s Angel” Lucy Liu is apparently ready for more detective work. She’s signed on to star as Watson in CBS’ modern take on Sherlock Holmes, “Elementary.”
Jonny Lee Miller is playing the titular role in the show that transplants Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s master sleuth from 19th century London to post-millennial Manhattan.
According to Deadline, the “Ally McBeal” alumna will play Joan Watson — a former surgeon who lost her license after a patient died. To make ends meet, she apparently takes in Holmes, who is fresh out of rehab and in need of a sober companion.
Did we mention that they will be residing in hipsterific Brooklyn? Did we further mention that there’s already a fabulous modern-day Sherlock Holmes adaptation headed up by Steven Moffat that stars the extraordinary Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson?
