Michelle Williams has been to her fair share of awards shows since the beginning of the year and, somehow, she’s managed to look lovely at almost all of them (that Oscar nominees luncheon dress was a misstep, but she’s otherwise been her usually perfectly adorable and well-dressed self).
On Sunday (Feb. 12), the “My Week With Marilyn” showed up for the BAFTAs — Britain’s version of the Oscars — in a custom-made H&M gown. That’s right, H&M — but don’t expect to find it at your local store. The strapless ivory top with black skirt was created especially for her.
She also chose an unconventional clutch — an Olympia Le Tan “book” clutch that upon close inspection (below) reveals itself to be an embroidered tribute to Arthur Miller’s “The Misfits” — a movie in which Monroe starred.
“That’s exactly the way I like my bags to be worn,” designer Le Tan tells the Daily Mail. “For the book and for the bag!”
Williams was nominated for best actress, but that honor was taken home by Meryl Streep.
