Hot on the heels of his video release, Adam Lambert is making more news. He tells London’s Daily Star that he’s set to join legendary rock group Queen as the band’s frontman on an upcoming summer tour.
“The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f***ing great songs,” says Lambert of the band’s late singer, Freddie Mercury. “It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.”
Lambert teamed up with the band for a performance at the MTV European Music Awards in November 2011 and, he says, they were impressed enough with him to ask him to join them on the tour.
Lady Gaga was also mentioned as a possible frontwoman, according to NME.com.
