Country crooner Randy Travis was arrested early Monday for public post-Super Bowl intoxication (it’s been the downfall of greater men). He was found in a parked car with the lights out, outside a church in Denton County, Texas, drunk and holding a bottle of wine. He’d allegedly had a fight with his girlfriend.
“I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the
Super Bowl,” Travis tells the AP. “I’m committed to being responsible and accountable, and
apologize for my actions.”
He was taken to a Denton County jail and released a few hours later, having been cited with a misdemeanor charge. Travis is scheduled to go on tour on Friday.
