Good news, “Secret Life of the American Teenager“ fans. We’re not sure if it’s about ratings or the buzz created by Shailene Woodley‘s Golden Globe nomination for “The Descendants,” but ABC Family has officially given the show a green light for Season 5.
This will bring the show to over 100 episodes, a first for ABC Family. Season 4 begins March 26 at 8 p.m. EST, when fans will finally find out whether Amy and Ricky actually make it down the aisle.
Additionally, ABC Family has announced more original programming. In keeping with the young parents theme, “Baby Daddy” stars Cameron Deane Stewart as a guy who discovers he’s a parent when his ex-girlfriend leaves a baby on his doorstep. His friends, played by Tahj Mowry, Chelsea Kane, and Derek Theler, help him raise the child. Production on the multi-camera comedy begins this spring.
They’re also getting into reality TV with “Beverly Hills Nannies,” about a group of activists working to better the planet.
Just kidding. It’s about nannies in Beverly Hills and is produced by the people behind Bravo’s “Real Housewives” series, so it’s sure to be profound.
Nobody does Christmas like ABC Family, and now they’ve announced their first “25 Days of Christmas” original, starring Tia Mowry and Tori Spelling, about rival holiday music groups. The movie, called “The Mistle-Tones,” begins production next month in Utah.
