It’s that time of year again, “Vampire Diaries“ fans! Mystic Falls High is having another decade dance, and this time, it’s a callback to the beginning of this season. We’ve seen the ’50s dance, and the ’60s dance… and now we’ll revisit Stefan’s ripper days with a 1920’s dance.
Executive producer Julie Plec tweeted about the dance late on Tuesday night, writing, “I swear I must’ve been a songbird in the 20’s. This makes me WAY too happy,” with a link to the song “That Man” a jazzy, roaring-twenties style song by Dutch singer Caro Emerald.
Mystic Falls High School dances are always a good time… interrupted by death and trauma, obviously. We’re hoping that the ’20s theme brings our new favorite bromance back together… Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan), of course. At the very least, Rebekah (Claire Holt) should be in her element.
Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for more information as to who the ever-elusive Mystic Falls serial killer is. Despite the shocking cliffhanger in the most recent episode, in which Meredith (Torrey DeVitto) appeared to shoot Alaric (Matt Davis) after he discovered her research on the murders, we’re not buying that she’s the actual murderer.
Our money was on Carol Lockwood (we’re only sort of kidding) but now all the clues are pointing toward it being someone we haven’t met yet. In the upcoming episode “1912,” Damon connects the currents string of murders to a killer in 1912, when he was hanging out with a hot lady vampire boxer named Sage (Cassidy Freeman).
We’ll be seeing Sage in the present-day Mystic Falls scene soon thereafter, so it’s more than possible that she’s our killer.
For what it’s worth, though, we still wish it was Matt. That kid is long overdue for a psychotic break.
