“And actually, when we were shooting the episode where Marie goes to open houses and steals things, I went out to this restaurant with one of our writers and he was commenting on the little spoon, you know, that you use to stir coffee and I stole that spoon. I wrapped it up as a gift for him and said, ‘Just a little something!'”
In a moment of sheer honesty, “Breaking Bad” actress Betsy Brandt admitted to Zap2It that she shares a slight klepto tendency with her character on the show.
“I’ve stolen small spoons in my life and it was just a coincidence they put that in,” recalls the actress, who plays Marie Shrader, the neurotic wife of DEA agent, Hank Shrader on the AMC series. We caught up with her at Monday’s (March 26) premiere of fellow AMC show “The Killing.”
Though production is already underway on the drama, which returns for its fifth season in July, Brandt doesn’t head to the New Mexico set until later this week. She told us to expect an explosive reaction to the upcoming first episode of her show’s next season, and while she gave away no spoilers, she offered one personal hypothesis on the fate of Walter White (Bryan Cranston).
“We’ve got the cancer thing,” says Brandt. “I don’t know where we’re at in the story with that, but it’s sort of looming. I can’t believe he’s made it this far.”
