You’d think that “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson would want a
little time off to, I don’t know, roll around in cash just because she
can, but instead of taking a break now that the “Potter” hysteria has
been muted to a dull roar, she’s booking herself solid.
Watson has recently been confirmed to star in Sofia Coppola’s “The Bling Ring,”
a film based on the true story of a group of Los Angeles teenagers who
burglarized the Hollywood Hills homes of several celebrities in 2008 and
2009. Watson will play the leader of the pack, according to Variety, in the film written by Coppola.
The assumption is that Watson will play Alexis Neiers, reality star of
“Pretty Wild” and the most notorious of the gang, who served 30 days for
burglarizing Orlando Bloom’s home. The band of thieves also robbed
Audrina Patridge, Rachel Bilson, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan.
The film will shoot on location in Los Angeles.
