The “American Idol” Top 7 will have another chance at making it another week in the competition when the recently saved Jessica Sanchez and her fellow singers will tackle tunes from Now and Then.
What does that mean, exactly? Well, they’ll have to sing a No. 1 Billboard hit from 2000-2012 along with a soul song from a previous decade, TVLine reports. Considering these singers’ penchant for choosing older tunes, this could actually be quite interesting. And no, this won’t be some weird mash-up situation — producer Nigel Lythgoe confirmed on his Twitter account that the finalists will each be singing two songs.
The following night’s results show will feature performances by LMFAO singing their hit “Sorry for Party Rocking,” and Season 8 winner Kris Allen performing his new single, “The Vision of Love.” (No, that’s probably not a Mariah Carey cover.)
