On week two of “Dancing With the Stars,” Sherri Shepherd gave an emotional performance. This was story week, and Shepherd was dancing for her son, who was in danger of dying when he was first born. We spoke to Shepherd on the red carpet, where she talked about the experience and her son’s reaction to it all.
“I had to put my fingers in my ears,” she says about watching the emotional package about her son. “I just blew a kiss to Jeffery and just paid attention to Val (Chmerkovskiy).” We asked what Jeffery thought of Mommy’s dancing. Shepherd says, “He loved it! And he loved Roshon (Fegan). He said, ‘Mommy, you were great and I loved Roshon.’ He’s kind of defecting in a way, but he loved Roshon.”
We asked Fegan about it. “Yeah! I heard it,” he laughs. “I think he wants me to win. I mean, he wants his mom to win, but he wants me to win too. Not sure how that will work!”
On “The View” this morning, Shepherd said she’s happy with the 8’s she received for her dance. “Girl I was so happy because I didn’t know what to expect. I have room to improve.”
She also says she’s afraid of the elimination round. “I’m scared to death, I’m hoping that the fans like my dance. I’m really nervous. I don’t want to go home.”
The elimination round of “DWTS” airs Tuesday, April 3 on ABC.
