This week on “Dancing With the Stars,” Melissa Gilbert and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced a paso doble to “Conquest” by the White Stripes. Zap2it‘s on-the-scene reporter Jenna Busch tells us that following the performance, Gilbert was taken to the hospital.
According to Karina Smirnoff, Melissa hit her head during her paso doble and felt dizzy after the dance. She was taken out of the theater on a stretcher, after Gavin DeGraw carried her down the stairs to the waiting ambulance.
We hope the hospitalization was just a precaution and that there is nothing serious going on. We re-watched her performance and the only thing we think could have caused the head bump was when Maksim kind of biffed a move around the 50-second mark. She could have bumped her head on the floor at that point.
We’ll keep you posted as we know more.
UPDATE: The diagnosis is in!
