– The ratings for HBO’s new comedy “Girls” didn’t quite match the pre-show buzz, but the show got off to an OK start on Sunday (April 15). A little under 900,000 viewers watched the premiere at 10:30 p.m. ET Sunday, and a replay later in the night bumped the total up to 1.1 million. [HBO]

– Craig Ferguson is taking his “Late Late Show” to his native Scotland for a week. The shows will air May 14-18 and include stops in Glasgow, Edinburgh and his hometown of Cumbernauld. Mila Kunis, Michael Clarke Duncan, David Sedaris and Rashida Jones are among his guests. [CBS]

– USA’s miniseries “Political Animals” has added another well-known actor to its cast. Ellen Burstyn will play the mother of Sigourney Weaver‘s character in the six-hour mini, due to premiere this summer. Weaver stars as a former first lady-turned-secretary of state dealing with personal and professional crises; Ciaran Hinds, Carla Gugino and James Wolk also star. [USA]

– Another “Gilmore Girls” veteran has signed on to creator Amy Sherman-Palladino‘s new ABC Family series, “Bunheads.” Gregg Henry (Mitchum Huntzberger on “GG”) will have a recurring part as a restaurant owner in the lead character’s (Sutton Foster) new hometown. [TVLine]

Casey Sander has signed on to play Bernadette’s (Melissa Rauch) dad Mr. Rostenkowski on “The Big Bang Theory.” In the May 3 episode, we find out that the timing of Howard’s (Simon Helberg) NASA mission could create havoc for his wedding.
