An unidentified masseur claims actor John Travolta sexually assaulted him during a massage in a Beverly Hills Hotel room back in January and is suing Travolta for $2 million on a sexual battery claim, reports Reuters.
The masseur, who is only referred to as John Doe in the court documents, claims Travolta rubbed his leg, touched his genitals and tried to initiate at least one sexual act inside a private bungalow at the hotel.
Travolta’s spokesman says the claim is a “baseless lie” and that Travolta wasn’t even in California on the date in question, January 16.
“On the date when plaintiff claims John met him, John was not in California and it can be proved that he was on the East Coast. John intends to get this case thrown out and then he will sue the attorney and plaintiff for malicious prosecution,” says the spokesman, in a statement.
Okorie Okorocha, the lawyer for the masseur, says the time lapse between the incident and the filing was due to his investigation into the claims and discussions with Travolta’s representatives. The plaintiff is claiming assault, sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is also requesting a jury trial.
