Kanye West is trying his hand at film making again, and this time he’s unveiling his movie on an impressive stage – during the Cannes Film Festival.
The project, called “Cruel Summer,” is being described as “a fusion of short film and art installation…an immersive seven-screen experience,” this according to MTV. It will feature comedian and actor Aziz Ansari, Razane Jammal, Ali Suliman as well as rapper Kid Cudi. It is reported to be inspired by the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album.
The film will make its debut on May 23 and will be open to the public for the two days following. It will not, however, be a part of the actual film fest competition.
West, who is being listed as the writer, producer and director of the project, last made a movie in 2010. That short film was called “Runaway.”
