NBC’s pilot “Mockingbird Lane” has added another member to its monstrous family.
Mason Cook will play Eddie Munster in the show, Deadline reports. He joins Eddie Izzard (Grandpa) and Charity Wakefield (regular human cousin Marilyn) in the cast of “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller‘s project, which is taking the hammy 1960s sitcom “The Munsters” and re-imagining it as a one-hour dramedy.
The 11-year-old Cook (“Spy Kids 4,” “The Middle”) will play an Eddie who’s having a lot of trouble coming to terms with the fact that he’s a werewolf and has stopped eating meat as a result.
“Mockingbird Lane” was part of NBC’s pilot roster this season, but the network and studio Universal TV pushed back production until the summer in order to get the right cast. The roles of Herman and Lily have yet to be filled. Because of the late start on production, the show will likely be considered for midseason or fall 2013. Bryan Singer (“House,” “Superman Returns”) is directing the pilot.
