Maybe’s it’s a sign of “Twilight’s” waning popularity, but after two years atop the list of most popular baby names Isabella has been supplanted by Sophia. Meanwhile, Jacob topped the boys’ list for the 13th year in a row.
In a list released Monday (May 14) by the Social Security Administration, Emma, Olivia and Ava rounded out the top five names for girls. On the boys side, Mason jumped 10 spots to become the second most popular name for boys. The Associated Press attributes Mason’s popularity to Mason Kardashian, son of reality royalty Kourtney Kardashian.
Rounding out the top five for boys: William, Jayden and Noah. At sixth place, Michael logged his lowest ranking since 1948.
So where’s the Sophia love coming from? “Modern Family’s” Sofia Vergara, mayhaps?
