“Glee’s” Idina Menzel has been cast as the voice Elsa the Snow Queen in Disney’s upcoming animated tale, “Frozen.” The movie will also feature “Veronica Mars'” Kristen Bell as the heroine, Anna, a young girl who teams up with Kristoff, a mountain man, to save their kingdom from an eternal winter.
According to Disney’s release, “Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at
every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the
kingdom from destruction.” They embark on a grand adventure to find the Snow Queen, the only one who can release the kingdom from the chilling spell.
There’s no word yet on who will play Kristoff (we picture Chris Hemsworth, but that’s been happening to us a lot lately).
The movie, naturally, is a musical, so fans can look forward to Menzel and Bell showing off their considerable singing chops. Menzel won a Tony Award for her work on Broadway in “Wicked,” and Bell’s career began in Broadway musicals as well.
