Production of TNT’s “L.A. Noir” pilot has wrapped, but if the show gets a series order at TNT showrunner Frank Darabont has his eye on an actor to play the role of mob boss Bugsy Siegel: “Hung’s” Thomas Jane.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jane wasn’t available to take part in the pilot but may appear “in printed materials.”
The show stars Jon Bernthal (“The Walking Dead’s” Shane) as Joe Teague, a Los Angeles cop hot on the trail of mobster Mickey Cohen. Former “Heroes” co-star Milo Ventimiglia also co-stars, along with Neil McDonough and “TWD” alums Jeffrey DeMunn and Andrew Rothenberg. Simon Pegg guest stars in the pilot.
This would be Jane’s first return to series TV since “Hung” was canceled by HBO in 2011.
