While summer Blockbuster season is at its peak right now, the slew of early fall movies releasing trailers right now serves as a reminder that studios like to make smaller, more prestigious movies too — they just like to wait and release ’em at the end of the year.
The latest trailer to hit the Internet is for the Weinstein Company’s “The Silver Linings Playbook,” based on a 2008 novel by Matthew Quick about a man who adjusts to life after living in a mental health facility with the help of his equally damaged neighbor.
Starring Bradley Cooper as the man in question, Jennifer Lawrence as his love interest, and a rock-solid supporting cast that includes Robert De Niro, Jackie Weaver, Chris Tucker and Julia Stiles, “The Silver Linings Playbook,” out November 21, will definitely be a contender come Oscar time.
But the first trailer plays upon the lighter moments of what could be a very heavy story. Cooper and Lawrence have fantastic chemistry. Check it out below and let us know what you think!
