Cat Cora, the celebrity chef and host of “Around the World in 80 Plates” was arrested on suspicion of DUI in June when she rear-ended another vehicle in Santa Barbara, Calif. Now the Santa Barbara Police Department has released Cora’s mugshot. If she looks better than expected, it’s probably because the picture was taken 11 days after her arrest.
The “Iron Chef” regular showed signs of intoxication after police arrived at the scene of the accident and she admitted to having three beers earlier in the night, reports Reuters. She failed an on-site breathalyzer test. Cora told police she had been having an argument with her partner before attempting to drive home from the Cold Spring Tavern. No one was injured in the low-speed accident.
Cora’s arraignment is scheduled for July 26. On Wednesday, Cora said that she regrets her actions and promised it wouldn’t happen again.
“I deeply regret my decision to drive that evening after my designated driver became unavailable,” says Cora in a statement released by her lawyers. “I learned a very important lesson from this experience and take full accountability for my actions. This will never happen again.”
