Forget Comic-Con swag bags. One fan walked away from Friday’s (July 13) “The Big Bang Theory” panel with something way better — a trip to space.
The ticket for a space flight from XCOR Aerospace on the Lynx Experience was first offered by former NASA astronaut Richard Searfoss to “BBT” cast member Simon Helberg, whose character Howard left on his own journey to space at the end of Season 5. Helberg declined the trip, and a lucky fan won the space ticket instead.
The winner was selected from the pool of fans who asked questions of the panel, which consisted of cast members Helberg, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch, Mayim Bialik, Jim Parsons via satellite, and executive producers Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady and Steven Molaro.
And while it’s hard to compete with a real-life trip to space, Lorre tells the Hall H crowd that Rajesh (Nayyar) has something pretty sweet in store ahead on the show.
“We have a romance planned for Rajesh,” Lorre says, laughing. “Wait till you see it.”
Something fans might be waiting a looong time to see (as in, don’t hold your breath) is a crossover between “The Big Bang Theory” and another of Lorre’s series, “Two and a Half Men.”
“One of these guys would be great to tutor Jake on ‘Two and a Half Men’ because he’s such a knucklehead,” Lorre says, referencing the brainy characters on “Big Bang.”
What kind of romance do you think is in store for Rajesh?
