Now that “Glee” is finally back in production for Season 4, we’re finally getting a few hints as to what the FOX hit has in store. So, what can we glean from the knowledge that the first episode back is called “The New Rachel”?
The title, via TVLine, is excellent because it can be taken two ways. First, we have Lea Michele‘s Rachel Berry starting NYADA in New York City. She’s a brand new woman with a brand new life, and she’ll have to get used to the fact that she’s no longer a big fish in a small pond.
“I don’t think she knows what’s ahead,” Michele told Zap2it at Comic-Con last weekend. “I think that she’s in a new city with obviously people that are now similar to her being that they’re all in a performing arts school. It’s gonna be intense I’m sure.”
Second, though, the title could have to do with the person who’ll take over Rachel’s spot as New Directions queen bee back at McKinley High. “Glee” co-creator Brad Falchuk tells Zap2it that the first episode back will focus on the glee club trying to rebuild its ranks.
“It’s about the juniors now who are seniors finding their way in this new world,” he explains. “And also Will trying to find what the new glee club is. You can’t just turn and give the solo to Kurt or give the solo to Rachel — taking nothing away from the amazing voices that are in there now. You make different choices, different stresses. That’s a big part of certainly the first couple episodes.”
What do you think the episode title reveals?
