The cast of Robert Rodriguez‘s “Machete Kills,” the follow-up to his 2010 horror flick “Machete,” is shaping up to very interesting indeed. First Charlie Sheen signs on to play the president, and now mother monster herself, Lady Gaga, has taken a role in the film. “Machete Kills” stars Amber Heard, Mel Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez.
While Gaga is not an acting novice — that pop persona takes some acting chops, and so does playing her alter-ego, Jo Calderone — she appeared in an episode of “The Sopranos” as a teenager, this is her first major movie role. (No, that alien cameo in “Men in Black III” doesn’t count.)
Rodriguez tweeted a photo of the singer-turned-actress in the movie. Turns out she’ll be playing a character called La Chameleon with an old school Hollywood glamor look.
Gaga confirmed the news herself on her Twitter account. “Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress ln the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane,” she writes.
With a cast like this, “Machete Kills” will definitely be interesting, if nothing else…
