Listen, there’s nothing wrong with dividing an epic novel into multiple movies in order to tell the best story possible. But do you think that’s the case with “Mockingjay,” the third and final book in the “Hunger Games” trilogy? It’s now officially becoming two movies.
Lionsgate announced that “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” will hit theaters on November 21, 2014, followed by “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” on November 20, 2015. Looks like Jennifer Lawrence will be busy for the forseeable future.
It’s nice to know that such a great series will continue for many more years to come, but is that truly the best decision? Does “Mockingjay” have enough going on to actually warrant two movies? This is one case where maybe it’ll be nice for the screenwriter to stray from the book and add some action. (And no, that’s not coming from the Team Gale place in my heart.)
What do you think? Are you excited about two movies?
