TJ Jackson, the son of Michael Jackson’s brother Tito, has been appointed temporary guardian of Jackson’s three children: Prince Michael, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10. A judge also added that TJ should apply for permanent guardianship of the children, reports TMZ.
The executors of Jackson’s estate are apparently concerned about the children in the wake of some unusual news about their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, that has been unfolding in recent days. First Katherine was reported missing by one of her nephews only to be located at a hospital in Arizona. Then police were called to the the Jackson family estate on a domestic disturbance, though no one was arrested.
Executors John Branca and John McClain expressed concern on Tuesday (July 24) about Katherine’s guardianship, saying the children needed to be protected from “undue influences, bullying and greed.”
In awarding custody to TJ, the judge said Katherine was not suspended for wrongdoing, but that she was prevented from doing her guardianship duties by “intentional act from third parties.”
