The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards is welcoming several golden girls to the stage next month. The U.S. gold-medal winning women’s gymnastics team — Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber — will be on hand to present an award at the show.
And golden girl of country music, six-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift, will be performing for the show. She joins previously-announced performers Green Day, Alicia Keys, One Direction and Pink.
Comedian Kevin Hart is the host of the VMAs, which air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Rihanna and Drake lead all nominees with five nominations apiece.
