“Glee” star Kevin McHale tried his hand at hosting at the latest Teen Choice Awards, but now the actor is looking at a more permanent gig: He’s one of the finalists in contention to take over for Steve Jones as host of “The X Factor” this fall.
According to TV Guide, the new role wouldn’t affect his day job on “Glee.” Rather, he’d likely be one half of a male-female team. Other potential hosts include Khloe Kardashian, Erin Andrews and Kelly Osbourne. McHale has worked with the show and its personalities before: He co-hosted the Teen Choice Awards alongside “X Factor” judge Demi Lovato, and he hosted a behind-the-scenes featurette during the show’s Season 1 premiere.
Look for producer Simon Cowell to make an official announcement in the coming weeks.
