Nick Jonas is eager to fill one of the empty seats at the “American Idol” judges’ table, and the 19-year-old singer confirms to his more than 4.6 million Twitter followers Saturday (Aug. 5) that he’s definitely in the running.
“The rumors are true… I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol,” he writes.
Fox announced in July that Mariah Carey has signed on as a judge for Season 12, and “Idol” sources say her one-year deal is worth $18 million. Two of last season’s judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, both quit, and Randy Jackson’s return has yet to be confirmed. However, Fox’s president of entertainment Kevin Reilly says Jackson was “very instrumental” in the Carey deal, which may bode well for Jackson’s spot at the table.
Could you see Jonas joining Carey as a judge on “American Idol”?
