Robin Williams could be the latest big-name star to star in his own TV show. According to new reports, the actor is the latest A-lister considering a jump (back) to television on a new workplace comedy written by David E. Kelley.
Deadline reports that the single-camera sitcom would star Williams as an advertising executive who works alongside his daughter. CBS is in talks to pick up the show, which comes from 20th Century Fox TV.
It would mark Kelley’s return to CBS, where he created “Picket Fences,” and Williams’ return to TV after 30 years, when “Mork & Mindy” ended. Networks are increasingly going after high-profile celebrities for TV shows. Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing” is heading into its second season at ABC, while Michael J. Fox is the latest beloved star to have a show in development.
Would you watch a Williams/Kelley sitcom? (If your answer is no, WHY NOT?!)
