When “The Secret Circle” was canceled by The CW after just one season, we were disappointed to say goodbye to so much talent — both in front of and behind the camera. Slowly, the cast and writers are finding their places elsewhere in the industry. Chris Zylka is headed to “American Horror Story,” and now, showrunner and writer Andrew Miller has landed a prime new project with Fox television.
As reported by Deadline, Miller is set to adapt Danny Boyle’s 2000 movie “The Beach,” based on the 1996 novel by Alex Garland, for television. Fans will remember Leonardo DiCaprio as Richard, a college student who leads a ragtag band of travelers on an expedition to find a secret beach paradise. Of course, once they arrive, things aren’t quite as idyllic as they seem.
“It’s about a group of young people feeling disconnected and disenchanted
from society who try to start over in paradise but discover that while
creating the perfect world is hard, protecting it is even harder,” Miller says in a statement to Deadline.
