Calm down, everyone. One Direction singer Zayn Malik has returned to Twitter. Everything is going to be fine.
The boy band star created a bit of a kerfuffle this week when he decided to delete his Twitter, tired of taking abuse from cyberbullying haters and gossip columnists alike. Some took the deletion of his Twitter as a sign that he was leaving the “X Factor” borne band. Fortunately, he eased fans’ fears on Thursday when he returned to the social networking site, just in time for 1D to announce a new single.
“The reason i don’t tweet as much as i use to, is because I’m sick of all
the useless opinions and hate that i get daily,” he had written, suggesting that fans tweet the official One Direction account if they “have something nice to say.”
That didn’t last long. “Sorry, I was getting some abuse on twitter but I dont want to let my fans down. So I am back!! :) x” he wrote two days later. Later that day, he and the rest of his bandmates got together to record a video for fans.
The boys announced that their new single, “Live While You’re Young,” off their upcoming album, would be available for preorder Thursday night at midnight. “We want to say a massive thank you to you guys, because we wouldn’t be where we are today without you,” Louis Tomlinson said as the rest of the band got rather handsy with each other. After watching the grope-fest, we’re pretty sure Malik isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
