Viewers flocked to “The View” yesterday for a heavily hyped interview with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. The ABC daytime talk show drew 4.3 million viewers, including over 1.1 million adults 18-49.
That’s the most watched episode of “The View” since May 15, 2012 — which also happened to feature an interview with President Obama.
Among the topics POTUS and FLOTUS discussed with the “View” ladies were the differences between his vision for America and that of his Republican rival Mitt Romney and how Congress should “take some lessons” from their daughter Sasha’s basketball team.
Obama gave a similar ratings boost earlier in the month to “The Late Show with David Letterman.” As further evidence of the jump “The View” gets from its political coverage, Obama’s two appearances marked “The View’s” highest rated episodes since May 2, 2011 — the morning after President Obama unexpectedly announced that Osama bin Laden was dead.
