The singer’s rep says despite Seal’s comments from a couple days earlier, he “was not implying” that Klum cheated on him during their seven-year marriage.
“Seal would like to clarify that he was not implying his wife was cheating while they were together, but he was merely pointing out that their separation and divorce were not final and they are still legally married,” the rep tells Us Weekly.
That’s a big swing from Seal’s comments earlier in the weekend, when he made a crack about “fornicat[ing] with the help” when asked about reports that Klum was dating her bodyguard, Martin Kristen.
“These [paparazzi] bombarded him and were in his face,” Seals’ rep continues. “He was exhausted, which is why he wants to clarify what he said. … He doesn’t like now being made into the bad guy here — he always loved and cared for Heidi.”
Seal and Klum, who have four children together, separated in January. They both filed for divorce in April.
