Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin was arrested Tuesday (Sept. 4) at an Austin, Texas, airport after allegedly arguing with a flight attendant over alcohol, reports TMZ.
A source with airport security says Scantlin, who was apparently already intoxicated, was upset because the flight crew would not sell him booze. Following the altercation, his Los Angeles-bound flight was rerouted to Bergstrom International Airport in Austin for an emergency landing, where Scantlin was tossed off the plane.
According to the Austin Police Department, Scantlin was arrested and booked for public intoxication. He could also later face federal charges for interfering with a flight crew.
However, he could be facing prison time already: In July, Scantlin pleaded guilty to cocaine possession, but the judge agreed to clear his record in 18 months as long as he doesn’t break the law … which he may have just done.
