More than 24 years after the first “Die Hard” hit theaters, it’s still true that no one dies harder than John McClane.
So it is with “A Good Day to Die Hard,” the fifth movie in the franchise starring Bruce Willis as the New York City cop and foiler of terrorist plots. McClane is, as Willis says in the trailer, “the 007 of Plainfield, New Jersey.”
“A Good Day to Die Hard” takes McClane to Russia to pick up his wayward son (Jai Courtney of “Spartacus: Vengeance”). Things go sideways, though, and the McClanes find themselves in the middle of a terrorist plot that’s somehow tied to John Jr.’s arrest.
Which, by the way, we found out by reading synopses online. The teaser is all about explosions and gunplay scored to Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” plus a beautiful woman (Russian actress Yulia Snigir) getting off a motorcycle and unzipping her leather bodysuit.
“A Good Day to Die Hard” opens Feb. 14, 2013. Watch the teaser and see if you can picture it as a Valentine’s date movie:
