Barack Obama has scored one decisive victory ahead of the Nov. 6 election: He won Nickelodeon’s “Kids Pick the President” online poll in a landslide, capturing 65% of the vote against opponent Mitt Romney.
This isn’t surprising, considering Romney backed out of participating in the corresponding Nick News special, which aired Oct. 15. Obama did participate and answered questions submitted by kids including what he considers his most embarrassing moment.
Over 520,000 votes were cast online according to Nickelodeon, although there’s no way to know for sure if they were all cast by kids.
What Obama supporters might be encouraged to know is that since the “Kids Pick” poll started in 1988, the poll has correctly predicted the results of the actual vote all but once. In 2004, the kids picked John Kerry over incumbent and eventual victor George W. Bush.
