After four years away from moviegoers, James Bond is returning with a vengeance. Not only is “Skyfall” opening to rapturous reviews and terrific buzz in the U.K. ahead of a Nov. 9 opening in the U.S., but there are plans in the works for two more Bond movies.
Daniel Craig is already locked in, and now Deadline is reporting Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Logan (“Gladiator,” “Hugo”) has been set to write the next two scripts. It’s possible the films will tackle a single ongoing story, which would mark a first for the Bond series. But given the notorious secrecy that always surrounds the franchise it may be awhile before we find out specific details.
Of course, all of this would happen before anyone pulls the trigger on a brand new Bond, a topic stirred up by yesterday’s reports about Idris Elba shaping up as a possible 007 successor.
