Already working on your holiday gift list? Well, if a million-dollar set of his-and-hers watches paired with a trip to Paris and Geneva are on your list, then just send Santa the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book rather than a letter. The luxury retailer unveiled its annual holiday catalog Tuesday (Oct. 9), known for its extravagant fantasy gifts.
For 2012, the nine aspirational items in the book include a $354,000 special edition McLaren 12C Spider sports car; a $100,000 hen house; a $70,000 piece from artist Robert Wilson; and a $250,000 dinner for 10 prepared by famed chefs Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, Richard Rosendale and Jerome Bocuse. Big-budget shoppers can also score a $150,000 wood-paneled tailgating trailer pre-stocked with bourbon and rye, a $99,500 water-propelled jetpack, a $90,000 arcade gaming machine, and a $30,000 walk-on role in “Annie: The Musical.”
The most expensive item among the fantasy gifts is the $1.09 million pair of Van Cleef & Arpels watches, depicting scenes from Paris. The buyer also gets a trip to the City of Light to see the pictured monuments themselves and Geneva to tour the Van Cleef & Arpels watchmaking workshops.
If you could have any of the fantasy gifts, which one would you pick?
