President Obama was on “The Tonight Show” Wednesday night (Oct. 24), where he addressed the debates and the Donald Trump announcement. But he also had words for Richard Mourdock, a Senate candidate from Indiana who supports the Tea Party, regarding Mourdock’s recent rape comments, which included, “Even if life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”
The president says in response, “Let me make a very simple proposition: Rape is rape. It is a crime. And
so these various distinctions about rape don’t make too much sense to
me, don’t make any sense to me. This is exactly why you don’t want a
bunch of politicians, mostly male, making decisions about women’s
health care decisions.”
Some of the other topics discussed included home foreclosures and refinancing, the importance of exercising your right to vote, regardless of party, and a rather hilarious anecdote about the president getting to drive a car in circles within the White House grounds. More video below.
