The first perfect scores of the season were handed out on “Dancing With the Stars” Monday night (Oct. 29) and they went to Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan and Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno.
Both dancers had slower numbers and both were about very emotional topics — Sabrina’s dance was about a man in her life who had been addicted to drugs and Apolo’s dance was about cancer. Not that the dances weren’t also technically good, but the judges really praised their emotional connection and expressiveness.
They each ended up with three 10s for a perfect 30, the first perfect scores handed out this season. We thought for sure Gilles Marini or Shawn Johnson would be the first dancer to get a perfect, as they both nearly got perfect 40s two weeks ago (the extra 10 points was because Paula Abdul was there as a guest judge).
