Taylor Swift keeps dropping breadcrumbs for fans during the lead-up to the big release of her new album “Red,” out next Monday (Oct. 22). And the latest tasty morsel comes in the form of “State of Grace,” her fourth single from the new record.
Swift previewed a clip of the song on “Good Morning America” on Monday before the full single dropped on iTunes at midnight. The track promptly went to No. 1 on iTunes — as of Tuesday afternoon, it’s No. 2, right below another of Swift’s singles, “I Knew You Were Trouble.”
So who is this latest track about? The 22-year-old singer is famous for airing her grievances with boyfriends past in her songs, but on “State of Grace,” fans get to hear a more optimistic take on love.
“I wrote this song about when you first fall in love with someone,” Taylor says on “Good Morning America.” “The possibilities and the different [directions] it could go — it is a really big sound and to me it sounds like the feeling of falling in love.”
