“The Talk” co-host and actress Aisha Tyler is headed to “Glee.” Tyler, who is known for her television work on shows like “Ghost Whisperer,” “CSI,” and of course “Friends,” is set to play the mother of New Directions newbie Jake (Jacob Artist).
“Glee” director Adam Shankman tweeted a photo of himself on the Breadstix set with Tyler and Artist this week, confirming that Tyler will first appear in Episode 410, which shoots this week in Los Angeles. And yes — it’s the Christmas episode!
Jake, who shares a father with Puck (Mark Salling), doesn’t mention his mother much, but according to TVLine, she’ll be around to deliver some much-needed parental guidance.
The episode is also set to feature a young Kurt Hummel, as producers are casting an 8-year-old boy to play Chris Colfer’s character in flashbacks.
