Deana Carter, the country singer known for her hits “Strawberry Wine” and “How Do I Get There,” is splitting from her husband.
Carter filed for legal separation from her husband of three years, Brandon Malone, in Los Angeles earlier this week, TMZ reports. In court papers, however, she says they’ve been living apart for more than a year.
Carter cites the standard “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation. She’s seeking spousal support and attorney fees.
Carter broke out in the mid-’90s with her album “Did I Shave My Legs for This?” She also co-wrote “You and Tequila,” which was a hit for Kenny Chesney and a nominee for song of the year at the 2011 CMA Awards.
