It seems that the One Direction rumor mill is churning overtime these days, and Liam Payne has had enough of it. The singer took to his official Twitter on Monday to address some of the more troubling falsehoods he’s been reading about himself.
Okay bored of constant news articles… I’m not dating Leona … My YouTube channel isn’t for a solo career and I didn’t insult Kim k…Pow!
— Liam Payne (@Real_Liam_Payne) November 26, 2012
Yes — first of all, he’d like you to know that he’s not dating Leona Lewis. Last week, reports spread that he was dating the fellow “X Factor” alum — and according to some sources, Lewis, who is eight years older than Payne, even said, “He’s great. We see each other when we can. I’m not saying,” when asked if they’re together.
As for the YouTube issue, Payne recently worried fans when he started his own official YouTube channel outside of the usual One Direction group channel. He’s not pulling a Timberlake just yet, though; the new channel is just for fun. Payne hasn’t actually posted any videos yet, but he does plan to give some lucky fans a shout-out in the first video. If you want a chance to be included, just tweet with the hashtag #LPshoutout.
Finally, Payne says he didn’t insult Kim Kardashian. A few tabloids ran headlines claiming that Payne had made a dig at the reality star — but he never actually mentioned her. He simply told You Magazine that he hopes that One Direction’s “X Factor” roots don’t cause the band to get lumped in with other kinds of reality stars. “”I think of it like this: there are a lot of people who get paid a lot
for doing not much at all–you know, like socialites who get paid for
appearing in reality shows,” he said. “But what we earn we earn for doing an awful lot. We are constantly working.”
