Bryan Singer is apparently getting the whole “X-Men” band back together for the upcoming “Days of Future Past.”
The director, who recently broke the news that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart would reprise their roles as Magneto and Prof. Xavier, broke some more casting news via Twitter: Hugh Jackman will appear as Wolverine in the movie, which is scheduled for release in July 2014.
Jackman, who has the solo outing “The Wolverine” set for release next summer, is the only actor to appear in every “X-Men” movie (he had a brief cameo in last year’s “X-Men: First Class”).
“Days of Future Past,” based on the early-’80s comic book story, will alternate between a 20th century world featuring the “First Class” cast and a nightmare version of the early 21st century featuring the older versions of Xavier and Magneto. Jackman could appear in either or both settings, since it’s been established that the younger mutants (James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender) knew of him.
What do you think of the news? Does the casting of Jackman make you even more excited for “Days of Future Past”?
