Dana Martin, a convicted murderer currently serving two life sentences in New Mexico for raping and killing a 15-year-old girl in Vermont, allegedly hired two would-be hit men to murder singer Justin Bieber. But for some unknown reason, he foiled his own plot before it could be carried out, according to KRQE News.
Martin allegedly recruited Mark Staake, a fellow inmate at Las Cruces prison, to carry out the murder once Staake was released. Staake and his nephew Tanner Ruane, whom Staake recruited to help, planned to take out Bieber when he played Madison Square Garden in New York last month.
Martin’s plot was pretty specific — and gruesome. He reportedly gave strict orders to strangle Bieber and his bodyguard with a paisley tie — Martin’s calling card — and Ruane was to castrate the victims.
KRQE News 13 reports that Martin is obsessed with Bieber — he even has a tattoo of the superstar on his leg.
For some reason, Martin blew the whistle on Staake and Ruane before the plot could be carried out. Staake was arrested in Vermont on outstanding warrants, and Ruane, who made it to New York with tools for the killings, was arrested by New York police.
