“Sons of Anarchy” has a lot of business to tend to as it wraps up its fifth season Tuesday (Dec. 4).
Jax (Charlie Hunnam) ended last week’s episode with several potential headaches looming over him and the club, even as he dealt with a couple of others. The cartel seems to be happy with the new arrangement — although it had a funny way of showing it. Even with that (seemingly) off of Jax’s plate, though, he’s still got a lot to deal with in “J’ai Obtenu Cette” (which translates more or less to “I Got This”).
Here are four questions the finale needs to address.
What about Clay? He’s out of the club, but Clay (Ron Perlman) still has the potential to create a lot of problems for SAMCRO via his new deal with Galen. There’s also the little matter of Jax’s bloodlust. He really, really wants Clay dead — even if it means going against the will of the club. One way or another, it doesn’t seem likely that Clay’s plan to fly to Belfast with Gemma (Katey Sagal) is going to go through. And speaking of Gemma:
Where does Nero fit in? Nero (Jimmy Smits) has become a valuable sounding board for Jax and a profitable business partner for the club this season. The past couple of episodes, though, have seen Nero somewhat reluctantly return to his former gang life, and that has meant more complications for SAMCRO. Will they come back to bite the MC?
What is Lee Toric’s game? Last week Toric (Donal Logue) revealed to Tara (Maggie Siff) that he wants the truth about the death of his sister, the nurse Otto killed with the crucifix Tara brought into prison. It feels like he’s on a crusade to bring justice for his sister, and that could get very personal for Jax and Tara. Logue has also said there’s a chance he’ll return for Season 6, so we may not be seeing the last of him here.
Will Jax really give Damon Pope what he wants? We know Jax and Tig (Kim Coates) aren’t exactly tight, and we know that Jax and Pope (Harold Perrineau) have had a mutually beneficial relationship this season. But it’s still hard to fathom Jax just coldly turning Tig over to be killed. Can he find a way around it?
The Season 5 finale of “Sons of Anarchy” airs at 10 p.m. ET Tuesday on FX. What are you hoping to see in the episode?
