Actress Ashley Judd may be considering joining the long line of entertainers-turned-politicians, according to a congressman from her home state.
Kentucky Congressman John Yarmuth tells WDRB that he has spoken with Judd about running for office and that she is “very interested.”
“I think she’s very interested in becoming a candidate for some office, whether it’s next year against Mitch McConnell or it’s against Rand Paul, whether it’s for some other office, I don’t know, but she’s a very serious potential candidate.”
The names Yarmuth puts out there are the current senators from Kentucky. McConnell is the nearly 30-year Republican senator and Paul is a freshman senator and member of the Tea Party. Judd has yet to make any kind of declaration either way.
Judd was present at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, where she spoke with Piers Morgan about health care and the economy.
