On Sunday night, Jennifer Lawrence won Screen Actors’ Guild Award for her acclaimed performance in “Silver Linings Playbook” — but when she took to the stage to accept the trophy, her first thank-you didn’t go to David O. Russell or Bradley Cooper. First, Lawrence thanked MTV — because without them, she may have never gotten her SAG card at all.
Yes, it’s true — Lawrence’s first official job as a professional actor was in this commercial for MTV’s “My Super Sweet Sixteen.” In her speech, she recalled the day that she got her SAG card in the mail, when she officially joined the secret alliance of professional actors. Now, thanks to the awesomeness of the internet, we can relive her first acting gig over and over.
In the video, she gets unceremoniously dumped off the shoulders of some man-servants and splattered with birthday cake… but aside from some unhappy screeches, she doesn’t have any lines!
