NBC aired a full lineup of new episodes Wednesday opposite mostly repeats and filler programming on the other networks, and it paid off. “Chicago Fire” recorded a series high in both viewers and adults 18-49 as the Peacock won the night.

“Law & Order: SVU” also had a better-than-average showing for NBC. On the other hand, the brief return of “Mobbed” to FOX didn’t draw anything resembling a mob, finishing fourth in both of its hours.

NBC brought in 6.9 million viewers and a 4.4 rating/7 share in households for the night, beating CBS (6.4 million, 4.2/7) for the top spot. ABC came in third with just over 5 million viewers and a 3.1/5. FOX (3 million, 1.8/3) took fourth, and The CW (1.8 million, 1.1/2) trailed.

NBC also led the 18-49 demographic with a 2.1 rating. ABC and CBS tied for second at 1.5, and FOX finished fourth with a 1.1. The CW posted a 0.5.
